Planning a Google Ads budget for a UK service business
Separate ad spend from management fees and connect your budget to the enquiries your business can handle.
Separate the two costs
Your advertising budget pays Google for ad delivery. Management fees cover campaign work, monitoring and improvements. Confirm both amounts, currency and any applicable taxes before starting. There is no single budget that fits every UK trade or town.
Start with a focused service area
Choose the services you want more of and the locations you can reliably cover. Avoid spending across the whole UK if your business serves a handful of nearby towns. A relevant landing page should explain that service and offer a clear next step.
Define a useful enquiry
Agree how you will distinguish an enquiry from a booking or paid job. Count qualified calls and forms, and record which ones become customers. Click totals alone do not show whether a campaign is profitable.
Review before increasing spend
Review search terms, wasted locations and the response process. If enquiries are being missed, improve the handover before buying more traffic. Use your own campaign data to set the next budget.
